Searching birds in the Gambia Musa is a very good guy with excellent kind of decent humor. He´s very enthusiastic, empathetic and open-minded. He came to me via one my friend on recommendation and I´m very grateful he spent all two weeks with us.He showed us the maximum of birds within reasonable price and he didn't look at us as only a source of money. I come from Central Europe and prices oriented to the Western Europe are not reachable to me. Musa kept it in his mind, therefore I´m extremely grateful to him and he stays deeply in my heart. Among our business rules we became also friends. He is in my eyes a very good choice of the guides for beginners.I would like to mention also his driver, Mr. Modoulamin "Doudou" who joined us in the trip. Very good guy as well :-)I strongly hope that we can stay friends in the future and I believe this is not my last contact with him.

Best birding experience Had a very good experience with Passy - (Ebrima Cesay) .He is in my eyes the best birding guide of Gambia. Stayed 3 days in Kairo Lodge and visited the area around to see and photograph many exotic birds. Then we went to Tendaba Lodge and did the mangrove boat trip to see another lot of birds, like Pelicans, several varieties of Kingfishers,Plovers, Storks and many other. No effort was too much for Passy. He is a "connaisseur " as far as birds are concerned. A pleasant personality !

Number 1 for Bird Watching in the Gambia Musa is a brilliant birder who we had the pleasure of spending three days with in February 2025. He has an amazing amount of knowledge and is one of the most well known bird guides in the Gambia.Our first visit to The Gambia we recorded 167 lifers during our time with Musa. The range of birds that we saw was what really stood out and without his expertise we would have seen a fraction of this number. Musa has a deep interest in the eco system in his country and is passionate about environmental matters and protecting the birdlife. A visit to his hide is highly recommended as a great experience.Days out started at 7.15 with a pick up from our hotel. He has real tenacity when it comes to tracking down birds, he maximises the time spent with you to ensure that you see as much as possible, something that we really liked. His passion is contagious, my wife is the avid birder, I enjoy nature and being outdoors but I have now been converted to the joy of birdwatching.I cannot recommend enough both Musa as a guide and the Gambia as a destination. You certainly get great value for money and when we return in the future Musa will be our number one choice to guide us on our bird watching excursions.Many thanks Musa, you made our visit to the Gambia truly memorable.

Great bird guide for Gambia During my recent trip to Gambia I had 3 full days plus a 2 night trip to Tendaba camp with Musah.For all our excursions I was collected from the Senegambia Hotel promptly at 7.15am. Musah is a very knowledgeable and experienced bird guide who is able to locate and identify many difficult to observe bird species by ear and also can attract the birds by imitating their calls with remarkable success.He was excellent company at all times and knows where to visit in order to see specific birds.I can thoroughly recommend using the services of Musa to anyone visiting Gambia on a birdwatching trip.

A memorable excursion with Musa as a guide! Four of us had a week in The Gambia in January 2025 with Musa as a guide, traveling upriver as far as Tendaba Camp. It was an unforgettable experience. Musa was an exceptional guide. He has a remarkable knowledge of bird calls and identification features, which put us onto the species very quickly, and his identifications were always confirmed when we saw them at closer range. We spent time walking in savannah, mangrove, and wetland settings, and we had several memorable boat excursions. We also visited hides where we saw many birds at close range. Musa had a very good sense of where particular species might be found, and as a result we saw some unusual and even rare birds. There were lengthy drives to Tendaba and along busy streets, but Musa was a careful driver, alert to potential problems, which made a big difference. He was unfailingly helpful with information and logistics, and we learned a great deal about life in The Gambia from him. He was always positive and accommodating to changes in plans, and he really wanted us to enjoy the visit, the birds, and the country. We are looking forward to arranging another excursion with him, and do hire him as a guide if you possibly can. Thank you so much, Musa!

Musa is the best birder in The Gambia Musa Manneh is a fantastic birding guide. He has over 20 years of experience of bird guiding. He knows not only the birds, but also all their songs. Often he can whistle the bird calls, and the birds come closer. He has a good understanding of the light to the photographers.We can give only him our best review. We booked Musa for 4 full days.

Musa organised a bespoke tour for my partner and I for 14 days with mainly birding and some cultural activities. Musa's knowledge of birds is outstanding. We saw over 260 bird species and a variety of mammals, visiting the coastal region, Tendaba camp, Georgetown area, and through to Wassadou camp and Niokolo koba park in Senegal, Baobab Island and Abca's Lodge. Musa has a very comfortable 7 seater van and employs an excellent driver. We strongly recommend Musa as a bird tour guide.

Great birdwatching tour with Musa We went on a 11-day birdwatching trip with Musa Maneh. We did 5 daytrips from the coast to different places and a 6 days inland tour to the north bank, Bansang/Georgetown and Tendaba. We had an amazing time. Musa is a great guide for birdwatching. He is passionate, friendly and very knowledgeable. He goes out of the way to try to find as many species as possible and knows all the birdsounds. He also has a very good birdhide where we saw the very rare capuchin barbler. Also he drove us to a place for the egyptian plover. On a boat trip we even saw a wryneck! Helmet strikes, 4 different kind of owls and many raptors were among our many highlights. At the end of our trip we saw 250 species. An excellent score!
