Lamin Rice Field and Abuko Nature Reserve are home to many birds, such as Turacos, Bluebills, Brown throated wattle eyes, and kingfishers. We can also visit Brufut and Tanjea, which offer sightings of Varreau’s eagle owls, Long Tailed Night Jars, Yellow Throated Leafloves, and more.

An afternoon visit to the famous Tanjii fish market is also possible.

Gunjur Konoto Forest, where I have a personal photo hide, is another destination. It’s the only known place in the country to see the Capuchin Bablers. Other birds found here include Western Bluebills, Green Hyliotas, Pygmy Kingfishers, and more.

Other recommended stops include:

  • Marakissa and Darasalameh, great for spotting Kingfishers, Owls, and more.
  • Mandinaba, Farasutu Forest, Bonto Forest, and Pirang Stream Farm, excellent for viewing Greyish Eagle Owls, African Wood Owls, Northern white-faced owls, Tawny Eagle Owls, and more.
  • Farabantang Bushtrack and Sotokoi, where you can see Brown Necked Parrots, Senegal Parrots, Rose-ringed Parakeets, and more.

You also have the option to stop at Bintang, Bolong, Kuntaur, and other locations.
